Angelo’s Restaurant, 1830 130th Ave NE, Bellevue, 98005, 425.883.2777

DESCRIPTION:

Some authors pay hundreds to thousands of dollars for exciting mini-movies to attract readers. Those that don’t, generally tackle the project themselves, but for some, the idea of producing a book trailer can be daunting. You don’t have to be a professional movie producer to create a dynamic and enticing video. We’ll review the “rules” of online videos, learn how to tame the most common movie programs, how to budget and if it’s even worth the effort. You’ll also leave with a list of free or low cost options for stock photos and music, as well as distribution channels for your newly created trailers.

INSTRUCTOR BIO:

April Rickard holds a BS in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing. She has spent the last ten years working her way up through the banking industry until her passion for writing and marketing could no longer be contained. While still holding her Assistant Vice President banking title, she now also runs her own company, DewPoint Studios. DewPoint specializes in promoting authors and artist with a unique offering of design services, online advertising, social media plans, basic websites and book trailers. She is now elbow deep in her heart’s desire to mix writing, authors and making all things pretty.

April has been a member of RWA and PNWA for just over a year and is also better known as Gerri Russell’s assistant. Her current WIP is a dark historical set in the US during the Civil War.

Seattle is such a great place ~ and big, don’t forget big ~ that surely it deserves two RWA chapters, doesn’t it?

Of course it does, we thought so too!

Eastside’s focus is just that, the Eastside of Seattle. Redmond, Issaquah, Sammamish, Mercer Island, and go from there. Of course, we love all of Seattle, and if you are willing to come to the Eastside to hear our Great Speakers and meet our Amazing Members, we would love to have you! We meet on the second Tuesday of each month, from 7-9 pm.

Formed in 1992 by Darcy Carson, Eastside RWA is a Romance Writer’s of America affiliated chapter (meaning you have to be a member of RWA National to join us… trust us, very worth it!).

What do we here at Eastside want? We want you to be the greatest writer you can be, and if your goal is to be published, we want to see you achieve that. To that end, we bring in industry speakers, talk about the trade, exchange tips, have critique groups, facilitate making contacts, and do our best to make sure our writers have a good time.

And hey, if you want to Join, then Welcome!
